Anxiety Disorders

Do you or your child experience uncontrollable worry about routine life events?  Do these feelings seem to interfere with your relationships, self-esteem, school or work functioning, and overall sense of happiness?

From Worry To Anxiety

Everybody worries sometimes, but when the “what ifs” of life start becoming an everyday occurrence about seemingly mundane tasks, worry has graduated to anxiety.

Anxiety can take many forms such as worrying about embarrassing oneself, worrying about having an illness even though all the tests have come back normal, excessive school fears, or worrying about locking the doors and turning off the stove.  We’re here to help you when your worry interferes with living a full and productive life.

Anxiety disorders involve a spectrum of behaviors that may include:

  • Intense worry or fear
  • Motor symptoms such as tiredness or muscle tension
  • Body arousal such as dizziness or rapid heartbeat

Types of anxiety disorders include:

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Panic Disorder
  • Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Separation Anxiety Disorder
  • Social Phobia or Social Anxiety Disorder
