Dr. Damien Chiodo, MD

[gn_box title=”Dr. Damien Chiodo, MD” color=”#00326e”]Damien Chiodo, MD, is a New Jersey native and is licensed to practice medicine in the state of New Jersey. He is a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is board-eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Chiodo earned his bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University in 2005 with a focus in psychology/pre-medicine. He completed his education with a 4.0 GPA and was valedictorian of his graduating class.

In 2009, Dr. Chiodo received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and ultimately returned to his alma mater in New Jersey. He completed his general psychiatry residency training through the Seton Hall University School of Health and Medical Sciences program based in Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Elizabeth, NJ. During his tenure at Trinitas, he treated an extensive range of psychiatric illnesses in adults, children, and adolescents.

From 2012 through 2014, Dr. Chiodo completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Rutgers University/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He provided psychiatric care and treatment to children as young as age 4. His experiences included working with children and adolescents in residential centers and inpatient and outpatient settings to provide diagnostic assessments, individual psychotherapy, and medication management as well as educating families on current guidelines and treatment approaches for children and completing school evaluations.

Dr. Chiodo’s approach is one of compassion and an appreciation of the uniqueness of each individual. He is very sensitive to the developmental issues of children and adolescents, especially within the context of their psychiatric needs.
