Dr. Michael Cunningham, MD

[gn_box title=”Dr. Michael Cunningham, MD” color=”#00326e”]Michael Cunningham, MD, is a licensed physician in the states of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida.  He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Cunningham earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in 1999 as a physics/pre-med major.  He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University in 2003.

In 2006, Dr. Cunningham completed his internal medicine residency through Seton Hall University at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, NJ. During his residency, he received specialized training in infectious diseases and cardiovascular medicine. He served as chief resident during his final year at St. Michael’s Medical Center.

In 2011, Dr. Cunningham completed a second residency through Seton Hall University in general psychiatry at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ.  During his tenure at Trinitas Hospital, he focused on the treatment of comorbid psychiatric and medical conditions, bipolar disorders, and treatment resistant depression.  As part of his residency program, Dr. Cunningham received additional training in interpersonal psychoanalysis at the William Alanson White Institute in Manhattan.  He served as chief resident during his four years at Trinitas.
